Behind every seamless event, there's a team of planners and problem-solvers working their magic. That's us—a collective of unique individuals who have a passion for crafting exceptional events, one story at a time.
 
At the heart of it all is a fearless leader with a vision of a venue with charm that would be a blank canvas where big and small ideas would become reality. She needed a team that would keep the big picture in focus and be the glue of the whole operation, a team with a sixth sense - or just outstanding notes.
 
One was stolen, one was nurtured, and the other was "re-imported" (we will let you figure out who is who).
Together, they are multitasking masters who run on colour-coded calendars and an unreasonable amount of caffeine who still bring events to life.

Jo-Anne Sudbury

My first job at 19 was in this crazy entertainment industry, and 35 years later, I am still playing and having fun more than working. It is all I know and love…outside my family and team, who feel like family. I have worked on more concerts, conferences, expos, launches, and private parties, big and small, than I care to mention, as it makes me feel old, but I couldn't imagine a day in my crazy life doing anything else. Truth be told, I am just the face and don't do much other than when my fantastic team need me for money…so you may or may not see me around, but know that it is because I have such faith in my ladies….Oh, and Kenneth, knowing you are in good hands.

Megan Sudbury

I've always been drawn to the events industry, as I was literally born into it. Growing up, it was the easy path for me; right out of high school, I started helping my mom at the venue. While I studied business management part-time, I always had the itch to do something different, like working on cruise ships to fulfil my passion for travel. Still, I've found a genuine love for what I do here at San Quentin Events. There's something truly magical about watching an event come to life, seeing all the moving parts come together. It's a challenge, with demanding hours and often challenging expectations. Still, the great customers and creative personalities make it fun and part of the thrill. The satisfaction of knowing that we've pulled off something unique and something special keeps me going, and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. I am your blue-eyed go-to girl; you will find me behind the bar if I do not greet you at the door.

Maria Senokoanyane

My interest in people, hospitality, and the events and service industry began in my early 20s and sparked a lasting attraction to events. My 15 years of experience have fascinated me with how groups of people working together can turn an idea into a magical success. I am your first friendly point of contact when contacting San Quentin. I work closely with you to ensure you have considered and covered all the necessities and nice-to-haves to make your event successful. Once you sign off on the quote with me, I will hand you over to our capable team on the ground for your event day…. unless you're serving bubbly, I might hang around for a glass.

Floor Manager

Kenneth Nkomo

For the longest time, I have been fascinated by the hospitality & events industry since my teenage years. I decided to follow my passion, started off working in a restaurant and then moved on to an event décor company, where I got a better understanding of the long hours and learned more about the creative side of events. When the opportunity came to work for San Quentin in 2023, I took it with both hands as I love working with people and watching a venue transform. I am your guy on the ground who is with you from when the doors are unlocked for setup to when your event ends.
